Steel Tube Rockwell Testing

Quality

With no exception, "Quality" comes first. Quality is continuously monitored on-line, using eddy current testing, to identify problems with weld integrity, lamination, or other potential defects.

ISO 9001:2000 Registered
A symbol of our continued dedication to quality and dependability.

Indiana Tube Corporation recognizes the need to remain an industry leader, while remaining focused on the needs of our customers.  With this commitment in mind, we sought and attained ISO 9001:2000 registration.

This is assurance that our quality system, in place to monitor and control all processes throughout our manufacturing operation, enables Indiana Tube Corporation to provide the world-class tubing products that our customers expect.

The quality of all materials received and every batch processed is audited in our QA Laboratory. The critical characteristics of rockwell hardness, outside diameter, wall thickness, and weld bead height are measured and controlled using SPC (Statistical Process Control). Material certifications with relevant statistical data are provided with each shipment upon request. In addition, expansion test samples, taken on each tube coil, are recorded and stored for future reference, if needed.

Further test abilities include burst-pressure testing, residue testing,  FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) chemical analysis, Vickers hardness testing, limited metallographic analysis, tensile and elongation testing.

Quality is continuously monitored on-line, using eddy current testing, to identify problems with weld integrity, lamination, or other potential defects.  Testing is conducted at processing speeds, so quality is never sacrificed for productivity.
